DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 : KIGALI CITY TOUR & TRANSFER TO RUHENGERI - VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
On arrival, you will be by our company representative and tranfer to Kigali city where you will have breakfast and embark on a city tour visiting Kimironko market and the genocide memorial site. Have lunch atthe Historical Hotel des Mille Collines- famous for the movie(Hotel Rwanda), Then we complete an evening city tour.
DAY 2: TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK(RWANDA)
Transfer to Ruhengeri – the nearest place to Volcanoes National Park found in the northern province of Rwanda. Upon hotel check-in and lunch,we go for a community and nature walk till late when we return to the lodge for Dinner and relaxation
DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING - VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquater with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your gorrila trekking journey accompanied by movement of the gorillas.However, the guides will try to find them from where they were last seen the previous day! you will spend 1 hour with these gentle giants and later return to your lodge to refresh and relax. In the evening, you can do an optional community tour around Ruhengeri for a Rwanda cultural experience. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge of choice as above.
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO KISORO / MGAHINGA NATIONAL PARK / BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy breakfast and embark on your journery to Kisoro town, the base for gorilla tracking in Mgahinga national park or Bwindi. You will have lunch enroute and enter Uganda through Cyanika boarder arriving Kisoro in the afternoon and proceed to the lodge with some community stop overs.
DAY 5: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING:
After early morning breakfast,we head to the park office headquater with packed lunch for a vital briefing prior to trekked for about 2-8 hours. if you still feel strong just head for a brief nature walk to the local Batwa community. Check out the curio shops, childen’s school among others.if you are nature lover,you can try other option of Munyanja river trail, where you can out an array of bird life and butterflies. Return for dinner and overnight as above.
DAY 6: TRANSFER TO KAMPALA VIA LAKE MBURO.
You will have early morning breakfast and drive Mbarara for a brief stopover in Lake Mburo national park for lunch and simple game drive,admiring the flora and fauna of the park and later on proceed to kampala / Entebbe International airport.
