This trip is meant to give you a memorable tour of Lake Mburo National Park; which is Uganda’s smallest national park well known for the impala though it has a vast population of wildlife ranging from zebra, eland, buffalo, oribi, deffasa water back, leopard, hyena, hippo, reed back. The park also has different bird species including the famous shoebill, stork, African fin foot, pelican, heron, Crested Crane among others. Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in southwestern Uganda. in a region of rolling plains and foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. The park is home to 618 bird species,10 primate species like chimpanzees and 95 mammals including big game such as; Lions, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, monkeys. In the park is Kyambura Gorge a magnificent valley of primates, with a great view of a natural forest, birds like flamingos. You will enjoy game viewing, guided nature walks and chimpanzee trekking.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Evening game drive;
Day 2: Morning game drive, lion tracking in Ishasha sector and afternoon boat cruise.
Day 3: Chimp tracking in Kalinzu forest (Kyambura Gorge) and transfer to Lake Mburo national park for an evening boat cruise, eclipse monument and sunset view at Igongo.
Day 4: Safari walk or morning game drive in Lake Mburo National park and transfer to Kampala

Overview

This 4 day’s safari will take you through Queen Elizabeth national park, Kyambura gorge and Lake Mburo national park to see different mammals, Birds and nature to make your safari memorable. Lake Mburo National Park; is Uganda’s smallest national park and the closest park to both Kampala and Entebbe Airport. The park is well known for the impala though it has a vast population of wildlife ranging from zebra, eland, buffalo, oribi, deffasa water back, leopard, hyena, hippo, reed back. The park also has different bird species including the famous shoebill, stork, African fin foot, pelican, heron, Crested Crane among others. You cannot miss seeing any of these bird species and animals because the park is suitable located and well angulat. Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in Southwestern Uganda. It occupies an area of 764 square miles in a region of rolling plains, east of Lake Edward and on the southern foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. The park is home to 618 bird species which is the 6th highest in diversity in the world and the highest in Africa making it a perfect destination for Uganda Birding Safaris, in addition to 10 primate species like chimpanzees and 95 mammals including big game. The main attractions in Queen Elizabeth National Park are; Tree Climbing Lions: with only two populations of these unique lions in the whole world, explore the southern Ishasha sector to track these lions commonly seen up in the fig and acacia trees. The Kazinga Channel: this natural water channel connects Lakes Albert and George and is home to a large number of hippos, Nile Crocodiles, elephants and hippos which can easily be seen on the thrilling Kazinga Boat Ride; Kasenyi Plains: these plains are popularly visited by tourists on a Uganda Wildlife Safari as they are home to a very large number of antelopes, the Uganda Kobs, lions and several large predators Kalinzu Forest: this is offers very rewarding chimpanzee tracking experiences and it is located on the southeastern corner of the park. The Kyambura Gorge: this verdant forested 100-meter-deep peculiar valley is home to a large number of primates and popular for Chimpanzee tracking tours in Uganda. Mweya Peninsular: this is a stretch of land that protrudes into Lake Edward is commonly visited during game drives as it offers perfect game views while exploring the various game tracks. Lake Katwe Salt: within the alkaline Lake Katwe, salt mining works have been ongoing for several years since that is the main economic activity in the area. Explosion Crater Lakes: these lakes found in the northern part are found on the highest elevation of the park. from here, tourists enjoy sweeping views of the Rwenzori Mountain ranges, the western rift valley escarpments and lakes George and Edward.

DAY 1 : TRANSFER FROM KAMPALA TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK - EVENING GAME DRIVE

The trip will start at 07:00 Am after breakfast and a briefing. We shall embark of a 6 hours journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stopover at equator and for lunch in Mbarara. Continue through villages with cultivated areas up to the lush green views of Queen Elizabeth national park. You will arrive late evening as you enter Queen Elizabeth national park and be amazed by jumping antelopes all over the plains. Check in the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 : MORNING GAME DRIVE, TRACKING IN ISHASHA SECTOR AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

You will have an early Breakfast and then get ready for the Big Day. Go for a game drive and early morning tree climbing lion tracking expecting to see the early risers, and at least four members of the Big Five and other animals that you could have missed yesterday like the Uganda Kobs, Water-buck, Warthogs, etc. After lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. You will see a lot of hippos as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see: Buffalos, Crocodiles, bathing Elephants, and a range of beautiful birds.

DAY 3: MORNING GAME DRIVE, TRACKING IN ISHASHA SECTOR AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

After Breakfast get ready for a short drive to meet our closest cousins in the Jungle in their frenzy exciting moods grooming in Kalinzu forest. Besides the chimps, 9 different species of Monkeys are found in this forest, for example Black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey and bush babies. In the forest canopy colored aviation creatures such as butterflies and various bird species like the native Great Blue Turaco, joyful Greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo and the superb black bee eater can be spotted. After the trek have lunch and later we start our Journey to Lake Mburo National Park where we shall have an evening boat cruise, sighting various animals like Zebra, Antelopes like Water-bucks, Impala herds, Bush-bucks and many more. We later head to rest at our accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: MORNING GAME DRIVE, TRACKING IN ISHASHA SECTOR AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

This day will mark the last day of your jungle safaris with Vijana Adventures Tours & Travel. After Breakfast you will have a short game viewing, we take the horse ride then embark on an exciting road trip back to Kampala with lunch enroute. You will make a stopover at the Equator line for experiment and photography. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and transfer to the airport to board your flight back home
