Lake Mburo National park and is home to over 68 mammal species. The park also has great sceneries starting from the rolling hills, the lush forests to the Savannah grasslands, and seasonal swamps to lakes. There are 5 lakes in the park where by you can engage in sport fishing where you can catch a large tilapia and other fish species, also large numbers of hippos occupy the lakes. While in the park you might not miss out on seeing the leopards, hyenas, and side stripped jackals in the night. Lake Mburo National Park is well known for the impala though it has a vast population of wildlife ranging from zebra, eland, buffalo, oribi, deffasa water back, leopard, hyena, hippo, reed back; which is a lot of animals for the traveler to enjoy his/her safari. The park also has different bird species including the famous shoebill, stork, African fin foot, pelican, heron, Crested Crane among others. The famous igongo cultural center is a historical site that is inhabited by the Banyakitara who include the bakiga, banyankole, batooro and the banyoro. The Centre is a cultural museum that is locally known as Erijukiro. At ingongo cultural center you will learn alot about the Ankole Culture, dressing, food, ankole cows and much more.

DAY 1 : DEPART FOR LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK, AN EVENING BOAT RIDE.

The 2 Days safari to Lake Mburo National Park shall start at 07:00 AM with a briefing at the hotel. You will later drive to towards the Western part of Uganda through towns like Lyantonde and Masaka with a stopover at Mpambire drum maker’s village where you will observe and also get to know how the locals make the drums. On arrival in the park, continue for lunch at any hotel or lodge of your choice as you proceed along the game trails you will spot various animals such as the elands, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, and waterbucks. In the evening you will have a boat ride along the lake where you will have a great time having a chance to see different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, topis and birds like the fish eagles. Later head to Igongo cultural center for the evening sunset view at the eclipse monument on Biharwe hill.

DAY 2 : MORNING GAME DRIVE OR A HORSE DRIVE AND TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA

Have an early morning breakfast and start off the game drive and a horse ride through the Park, for over 3 hours. This will give you an amazing glimpse of the Savannah and the 5 lakes. You will also see various animals such as buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, topis, hippos, and the different bird species on the acacia trees and near the lake making beautiful sounds. After the game drive or horse ride, we check out and head to Kampala, having a stopover lunch enroute and also at the Equator for photos as you proceed to Kampala reaching in the afternoon.
